The Ministry of Justice has published the provisional tribunal statistics for October to December 2017.
Key figures are:-
- single ET claims received have increased by 90%
- single ET claims disposed of have increased by 21%
- the backlog of single ET claims has increased by 66%
- multiple ET claims received have increased by 467%. This appears due to a statistical abnormality due to there being no 25,000 strong multiple case presented during the same three months in 2016, which falls outside the normal pattern of 25,000 cases (I believe holiday pay cases) being presented every three months.
From the launch of the ET refund scheme in October 2017 to 31 December 2017, 4,800 applications for refunds were received, and 3,400 payments with a total value of £2.8m were made.
