The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme online portal opened on Monday morning. It appears to be working remarkably well. In its full day of operation (until midnight on Monday):
- 185,000 firms submitted claims
- 1,300,000 were employees reported as furloughed
- Total value of £1.5bn
