It was announced earlier today that Dame Ingrid Simler, Lady Justice of Appeal, has been appointed as a Justice of the Supreme Court. She will fill the vacancy left by Lord Kitchin's retirement.
Dame Ingrid Simler was President of the Employment Appeal Tribunal between 2015 and 2018, and has sat in the Court of Appeal since June 2019.
She is one of (if not the) most experienced employment law practitioners on the Bench, and will join Lord Sales as Supreme Court Justice with specialist employment law expertise.
