Lodging Appeals in the EAT

  • Posted

The Employment Appeal Tribunal has updated its Guidance on Appealing to the EAT.

Practitioners are strongly encouraged to use the new e-Filing system, which is the EAT’s preferred method for receiving appeals.

I understand, anecdotally, that many appeals are still being lodged by way of emails, often numerous emails, containing unnecessary documentation (such as the original hearing bundle, or witness statements). This causes administrative difficulties within the EAT and is an inauspicious way for representatives to make a good impression. Adhering to the updated guidance, which sets out the required documents, is encouraged.
