Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme extended to end of June

  • Posted

It's a Friday afternoon, so I've been clicking 'refesh' to see what important announcement the government sneaks out...

And my wait was not in vain. In the last few minutes, HM Treasury has announced the coronavirus job retention scheme (the furlough scheme) has been extended from 31 May 2020 to the end of June.

This is doubtless because large businesses were due to start 45 days' collective redundancy consultation today, in order to not fall foul of the collective redundancy rules if they were planning to make more than 100 people redundant at the planned end of the furlough scheme, 31 May.

Now, your weekend homework: have you booked www.employmentwebinars.co.uk, which starts on Monday morning?
